On the fifth Sunday of the Lenten Lent, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of St. Mary of Egypt.
Not many pilgrims deserve a special part of the seven-day commemoration during the penitent period of Lent before Easter. And there is only one woman among them - St. Mary. The story of Mary of Egypt is an example of repentance and at the same time a reminder of God's inexhaustible love for people.
